  1. Again, sorry for the English. I am back from my trip and it went moderately well. I got the 123ignition installed the day before I left and it works great! I think I drove about 2000km. Here is a link to some public photos and the tracking map. I didn't have tracking on the whole time but it does show how far north I got to. https://share.delorme.com/CoreyRoss https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10157480021945252.1073741840.721540251&type=1&l=1e639ce587 I had to come back early as my alternator started acting up. It would randomly stop charging, and did that more often as time went on. Especially if rpm dropped down to idle. If I shut the truck off and restarted then got moving right away it would work. What is a common reason for failure for these alternators? I changed the belts out just to make sure they weren't slipping, the problem still persists. I see on the Tatanka site they have brushes and regulators for sale. Would these parts work even though my truck used to be a radio truck and I believe came with a higher output alternator? Or maybe there is a more modern 24v internally regulated alternator that is easily swapped in? Thanks for any help! Corey
  2. Yes i saw the 24v 123 ignition is available in Sweden. I emailed the North American dealer and he said that is something the Swedish dealer does to modify them, 123 doesn't make them that way. I decided to use a 24v -12v converter to power the ignition rather than wait for one to arrive from Sweden. It is supposed to show up tomorrow! From what I read about the install it seems pretty straight forward. Does anyone know of anything I should watch out for? Or could point me to an install thread on here?
  3. I decided to order a 123 ignition and I am hoping it arrives and I can install it before I leave for 5000km 3 week camping holiday in northern Canada wilderness.

  5. Hi! Sorry for writing in English. I am doing a tune up before heading on a big road trip. Having some trouble with the ignition. The plug wires are screw on which I believe was for radio shielding for the radio car. Can I swap everything to a normal cap, wires, and plugs? What part numbers should I use if i can swap them? What about the points? Some spare points came with the Volvo when I bought it but they were not the right ones. Looking on the Tatanka parts page they seem to match my spare ones, but don't match what is on the truck. Are the radio shielded points different? Where can I find them? Thanks for your help Corey
  6. I don't think that one is mine. Mine was a radio car. And Bob the previous owner raised the roof of the cabinet because he very tall.
  7. Work went well today. Changed both sides in 3 hours. In a fully equipped shop with help from my friend. we both are pretty handy mechanically. Now I need to look into the front locker diaphragm. Thanks for all the help!
  8. Here is some pictures the previous owner took for his for sale ad. I haven't made any changes yet, only had it a few weeks. http://www.motorshopdemammoet.com/volvo-laplander.htm
  9. That helps! thanks very much! I'd read to pinch the lines just wanted to see if leaving the brakes connected option was very much different. Thanks again!
  10. Hi! Sorry to start this topic which I am sure has been thoroughly discussed here. I am having a hard time with the search though as my English to Swedish search keywords are probably not ideal. I am planning to do the CV boots on my new to me tgb1315. I have the seals. I have a great understanding of what needs to be done. I did run across an old thread on another forum that pointed to a thread here that I can't find. It showed how to remove the brake/gear assembly from the portal box but leave the brake lines attached. Then I could replace the CV boot without having to bleed the brakes. If someone could point me to that thread or any others that might be helpful I would surely appreciate it. Thanks for your help!! Here is my new to me TGB that has already been camperized .

    Wanted TGB1314

Hi, I am sorry for not communicating in your native language. I am writing from Canada. I've been reading the forum with google translate for a few months now. I am seriously entertaining the idea of importing and converting a TGB1314 for overland use, depending on price. I've done a lot of reading before settling on this vehicle. I am hoping someone will be able to point me towards someone who could help me find and prepare for export a TGB1314. I've found this website http://www.staaling.dk/ and I think it is reputable but wondered if others had experience they could share. Thanks you for your time. Corey smoothlikebuttah@gmail.com
