  1. Hello again Craig My email address is jeffbird.jb@gmail.com Here are some more Pictures if you click on the link. Cheers https://goo.gl/photos/9vVDt5izuAQ89tio6
  2. The parts list for download for your C202 can be found at the top of the page when you open the heading C202 topics. there is a good breakdown of the gearbox in it. It should be a M45 with FD51 transfer box. Well that's what I put in my 1978 C202. I found that the clutch driven plate/disc was the same as used in a Bedford C F Van. 10 spline ,1 inch center hole. The clutch pressure plate is the same as from a landrover series 2 or 3 I think. Borg and Beck 50052/ 52509 Both I managed to get on Ebay and are fitted and working. Sorry I can not be more specific.
  3. Are you in the UK ? I have Manuals and parts lists.
  4. Hi Craig, I have almost finished a nearly 2 year rebuild of a C202 in the south of England. I have learnt alot on the way! Just today I went on my first road trip. (well round the block a few times) Very pleased not to hear strange noises or see lots of fluids spewing out everywhere. I don,t know how forums work , can I include my email address as a contact? I have some original rear light lenses. I will try to attach picture. Jeff.
  5. Found the wiring diagram in the download instruction manual . 2 pages quite difficult to read but may help. My concern now is that I have found both brake servos need repair. So far quotes for them replaced or repair are a lot of money , repair is about £150 each , replace is £290.00 each! As they are remotely fitted maybe I can use another type. I believe Rover/MGB have a similar one. My ones are marked -- Girling 5/8. Anything in Sweden that may suit? I am there next week for 2 weeks.
  6. Thanks Eile, engine and gearbox now installed. Had to remove the brake servos for repair. and still sorting the clutch hydraulics . I have managed to turn the engine over with the starter which is progress! Fuel, exhaust etc still to do. I can for see a few problems with the wiring. A lot of the wires seem to be yellow!. they have little ally tags/collars but all are unreadable. I need a wiring diagram. That would be great. When in Sweden I am based near Helsingborg, but sometimes go up to Gislaved to visit relatives. Maybe make contact in the future. Your C202 looks neat!
  7. Thanks eile, I have noted the contact details of the Blocket advertiser. I have just modified the cable type clutch lever to work as for the hydraulic system. I ground down a couple of splines on the shaft to enable me to re- position the lever. Then flattened the lever and shortened it to fit the slave cylinder. It seems ok so that I have put the clutch back together and gearbox on ready to install the engine. Attached picture. Although the parts manual shows the 2 rubber mountings for the gearbox below the gearbox bracket ( painted green in the photo), I presume that they are mounted each side of the bracket , then on to the cross chassis member?
  8. Ok for tyres thanks, Still looking for clutch release rod/arm for hydraulic clutch . Volvo Part No. 267329. Unfortunately stopping me putting engine back in and progressing the rebuild.
  9. With the rebuild of C202 making some progress, It came to a stop when with the intention of fitting the clutch and getting the engine back in, I came across a problem. The gearbox and clutch housing that I got from Terrang Axle( My C202 came to me without gearboxes) came with the lever that depresses the fork for the realise bearing in the clutch is for cable operation. The angle of the lever is different and the detent on the splines is in a different place than for the hydraulic type. I have the master cylinder and pipe work and new slave cylinder for hydraulic operation fitted so I need a lever to suit. It may be possible to adapt the existing lever, make a new locating groove/detent in the splines and straighten and shorten the lever but not sure what angle this should be at. I would prefer to get the correct lever. I wonder if I could get one in Sweden. I am in Southern Sweden late September for a couple of weeks. Anyone know if they are available? Also need the studs for connecting manifold to exhaust pipe system What thread are they? Thanks for your attention. Photo of my C202 1980s. It stood lonely for 25 years after that.
  10. Hello funky. I have been trying to scan a diagram for braking system on the C202 so that I could attach for you but having just installed windows 10 it doesn't recognise my old printer!!?! Some new driver issues. Anyway some where on the forum there is an excellent complete parts manual with all the details within. I presume you must have the C202 from Battle. I am on the south coast near Portsmouth rebuilding one. Just trying to sort out the braking system. I would think most likely that you have a loose connection somewhere near the master cylinder just above the pedals. Two plastic tubes from the resovoirs lead down to it. Good luck.
  11. Thank you Peter and "Other". I now understand that air could be trapped in the upside-down cylinder on the front wheels. I will try some of the tips although using Google to translate the Swedish is not that reliable. When I got the C202 there where no brake pipes and fittings to the rear wheels. I have fitted new pipes and cylinders and shoes to the rear. With no load sensor or limiter fitted. Do I understand that this is acceptable? Thanks again. A wet windy day here, not so good for the Americas Yacht Racing Cup practice sessions. Sweden's boat "Artemis" is our biggest rival!
  12. Hej, Quite a while since I posted from the UK with my 1978 C202 rebuild. Things are going reasonably well and the main rusty body work is almost sorted. The engine rebuilt and when the clutch is fitted and gear box , I soon want to fit them . I thought I would fit the clutch and gearbox to the engine then slide that under the vehicle and winch it up into position. I have a 240 volt winch I can mount above. Then fit the transfer box later. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Brakes- well I have managed to get the original master cylinder rebuilt with a kit from Altyco Parts . Past Parts in the UK are specialists at rebore and resleeve cylinders, they did the rebuild. With new rear brake shoes and brake cylinders (Landrover parts) and new front brake cylinders x4 (Landrover parts - plentiful supply and quite cheap in the UK. I can be more specific if any one wants the details) New pipe work where needed, the system was ready to flush/bleed. But after bleedeing still the pedal is spongy on the first depress. I am wondering as the front is dual circuit, if there is an order to the bleeding process?. For example which of the two pipes is best bled first on each front wheel? Thanks for now. A picture attached that shows some of the new wood trim.
  13. Thanks c202 jp I found after looking through a parts catalogue for clutches for every car/van, that the Bedford CF had a friction plate the same dimensions. I have been lucky to find one on Ebay and recieved it yesterday. It seems to be correct and fits on the M45 shaft. The part number on the box is HB 4503. It is an old /new unused item. If I find another, I will let you know. Best regards.
  14. The C 202 which I have was standing for 25 years with no gearboxes, before I started to rebuild it. I can not be sure that it had the correct clutch. The old friction plate fell apart with rust , but the center hole measures 1" diameter with 10 splines and does fit on to the shaft of the M45 gearbox that I have since got from Terrang Axle along with a transfer box, which fits the output of the M45 box. I have also found on a Landrover parts suppliers website in the UK, a friction plate that looks like it may be the same for a Series 2/2a/3 landrover. Here is the link-http://www.mm-4x4.com/series-22a3-clutch-plate-95inch-borg-and-beck-232-p.asp I have made some enquiries with them for more details. My old friction plate is stamped on the flywheel side 50052 and 52509 on the other side. Putte has sent me some pictures which also look like the right part. Attached are pictures of mine.
  15. Thanks for your help all, and the translations. I will make contact with Putte to discuss the clutch he has for sale.
