When converting cars we usually remove both the engine and gearbox and drive the prop-shafts directly from the electric motor. The motor we would use is 211kW and has 450Nm torque so is more or less double what the 206 had. Could we run this direct to the drive or would we need a reduction gear? The top speed is limited by the engine max revs. Originally the 206 was made with a Ford V6 petrol engine, and then the max speed was 55 km/h. The max speed was reduced to 50 km/h when they were delivered with the Mercedes diesel. I would run the electrical engine directly to the drive and just control the top speed electronically by limiting the revolutions of the electrical engine.
