Frank H Posted October 15, 2025 Report Posted October 15, 2025 Helle friends, it is long time ago since I wrote last here on terraengbil.net. Now I am working on plans again to bring my TL22 back to live and I'm wondering if there is a coeval Volvo diesel engine to replace the original A6. I prefer a inline 6 cylinder Volvo engine like the TD40(that's the only i now), but it's a bit to new. The power, size and capacity is what I like. Any suggestions? Pros ans cons? With kindest regards, Frank
54ekstrom Posted Monday at 05:59 PM Report Posted Monday at 05:59 PM Hi. Are you determined to get a diesel? I don't know about many suitable engines, but I suppose there may be half-modern ones from transport vehicles (vans of different descriptions) or smallish lorries. The problem may be size and weight, even if the A6 is pretty hefty as it is. I think there was an WV inline 6 diesel available in their LT3X series, but they are probably obsolete now. If you could accept a petrol engine, I guess the Volvo B30 might be an alternative, an inline 6 of 3 litres displacement and about 130 HP. Still in use in some military vehicles in Sweden today. Cheers /Rickard
