  1. is nice and more stable, but definetly needs fender flares especially when driving on wed road or mud. the tyres seem to be quite ok. not even close to the noise made by the original ones and with a lot more grip. darius
  2. Hi martin, I am sorry did not come back to you. I had a quick look within my computer saved pages, but was not there. I navigated the web on severall devices lately, so may be on one of the others. I will let you know, when I find it. why did you add those welded brackets on the axle? darius
  3. Martin you are a lucky guy with the authorities not caring about the power and emissions. here there is no problem if you do not exceed the power by 40% if I remember correctly (which is not bad). You could exceed it even by more than that, but must pass a vehicle dymenamic test (speed, brakes, rollover, etc). The only problem is to get the swap engine approved with an emission norm higher then noneuro. they approved to me toyota and mercedes engines (few different) with euro 2-3 norms (as original), but would not give me more than non euro. stupid. if volvo would have had also other engines installed from the factory, that would be completelly another story. so I am stucked to a stupid situation. If it stays original, I have to pay a lot of money for the registation taxes because is noneuro. Instead they do not want to let me use the same amount of money to get a nice more modern engine with euro 2 or 3, reducing the emmisions. so, I have to considier the options again: diesel with a lot of work and taxes + the costs of the swap or original engine with some power boosting solution (fuel injection/turbocharger/supercharger) which means the same taxes (as for the noneuro approved diesel) + the cost of power boosting Diesel would be best and still keep that direction, but ....takes too long to be fun. Anyway, recently I bought a TGB 1111 robot aluzink having around 6000 km and I want to keep it original and registered as historical vehicle (no taxes) but one of the conditions is to have been 30 years elapsed since the end of series manufacturing. Does anyone know when did the production stop for the this model? darius I know that the overal production stopped in '84, but nothing about each individual model. thanks
  4. you are probably right about Germany. here, one has to respect also the type of wheels homologated for the respective vehicle in terms of sizes, etc. I intend to get them trough the RAR (romanian TUV) when will have the vehicle homologated in order to register it for road use. Anyway, there are many modified rims on the streets. The other option in to add spacers which have also to be custom made, but the result is not looking the same way and more weight is added.
  5. I do not know if only here. I have seen many modified ones in Sweden and Finland, Poland, etc
  6. this is the final. not like Martin's, but still ok
  7. yes is the only way to get the track wider by more than 1-2 cm
  8. I will post it when I find it. I do not remeber on which of the search engines I bookmarked it. This is how my rims look like:
  9. hi martin, it was a new product replacing the original volvo 303 rims. the price was 350 euro/piece. i must have saved somewhere the link. will post it when will find it. in the mean time here is another link to a german company that manufactures axle/brakes parts: www.lehmann-ft.de sorry beig a little offtopic darius
  10. looking nice. I have seen few days ago a german company advertising on the web the manufacture of new rims for volvo tgb. the price was similar with the one you mentioned. did you by your volvo from offroadextrem.de? the engine and gearshifter on their webpage look very similar with yours. I modified my rims with good results, but only after building a special device for the lathe to have the rim sitting on it as on the wheel hub. unfortunatelly, not all of them were in perfect shape from the beginning.
  11. Thank you. any idea about what is the average price for power takeoff or PTO+winch? darius
  12. hi, Does anyone know where could I find some power takeoff for mechanical winch in case of tgb 11-13? I know there are some vehicles fitted with that on transfer case, but never seen one. thanks darius
  13. Hi, thank you for helping with the translation to english. My Swedish knowlegde is almost null. I got today a reply from Kurt who said something similar with what Martin quoted. Here Toyota engines are quite pricy. I was looking for some Toyota 4 runner/hilux surf comeming from England and unregistered, but now seems to be bad moment to find a good one with 3 liter engine. I wait for another meeting wit some guy from the department of motor vehicle and depending on what he says regarding the registration of the modifiications, I will decide on the engine. D4D looks nice , but comes with electronics and cannot use the entire driveline as it is because the front axle driveshaft exit is on the left side. darius
  14. would you please translate it Frederick? Google seems to be unable to translate it and I do not understand swedish. thanks darius
  15. Henrik I missed your question before. The engine was in Romania and the guy asked around 3000 euro for complete assembly (engine, gearbox, transfer box) how does that sound? I discussed with him last time around 2-3 months ago. darius
  16. I tried to send an email, but the email address seems to not be valid. My email came back. Do you have some other contact data of Kurt? thank you darius
  17. Hi Frederick, I saw on some other subject that you managed to receive a document from Volvo stating that you may use OM 606. Would you please help me a little on this issue? What did you have to do in order to get it? Did you make a type homologation/certification/type registration with this engine in your country? I need to do something similar if I change the original engine with something that was not installed by the manufacturer originally. If there is such registration elswere in EU, might work fo me if our local authority may get the data from an european data base. Thank you Darius
  18. Hi, is there anyone who made a type homologation (like the one made with TUV of other similar bodies) of the TGB 1314 with OM 606 engine or others? Here, if we change the engine with other that was never homologated by the manufacturer for the respective vehicle, some extensive testing and individual type homologation has to be completed. I was advised by this department of motor vehicles to try find if such a vehicle is homologated with respective engine or it is homologated for competition (that seems to easier to deal with in terms of modification accepted) in other countries. Thanks, darius
  19. Thank you Nowak. I had a look of Daniel's build. The translation is not always perfect, but it works. Regards, Darius
  20. Hi guys! I do not know is my post is in the right place, but however: does any of you have some detailed pictures of the original transfer case modification in order to be coupled with merc engine and gearbox as Daniel did. I plan to keep the original case, but closing it and adding a flange. I did not separate the gearbox and transfer case and would like to make an ideea of the big picture. thank you
  21. Thank you. I will check one of those cars one day. In the mean time, I bought a G klass steering box. darius
  22. Does anyone know if the LHD and RHD G klasse powersteering boxes are identical? darius
