Other tires & rims for TGB30/40/45

Hi.

A lot of people aks me  for  more infos about  my tires and rims.

 

The rims are from a german army  Truck cald" MAN KAT 1"

This rims you can get it  favorable, but they are tube rims.

For Sand its better.

The rims have a higher sidenose, so the tire don't flip of the rim when you drive with less air-pressure.

We call it 10.00-V20 , diameter are 20"

The offset is +120mm

 

Tires:

The tire I drive are Michelin XZL 16.00 R 20, they are realy big and a littel to big for the standart TGB30, for TGB40 its OK, they have more power.

My Max speed is by 2140 U/min 100km/h

Nice crusing by 80-84km/h , and less nois! And less Diesel, max are 30L/100km, by 80 in need only 24-25L/100km

 

The better is to drive with one size smaler, in 14.00 R20.

This size you get more and often cheep here in Germany or by Aircratftires in Holland. That is the typical size for german army wheels.

 

 

Problem:

When you drive with 16.00 R 20 tires you must styrutslaget gränsen!!!

With 14.00 you don't need. Why?--- The tire is to big and it scrubs on the styrning!!!

So I will make some spacer with 60mm, so my offset will be then only 60mm, I can put the styrutslaget gränsen away.

 

On the next pic you can see the left TGB with 14.00 and my with 16.00. It's a different, but the 14.00 are a lot bigger than the original , with 14.00 R20 Michelin XZL the TGB30 drive max 95km/h to oroginal 85km/h

Do you know if there are any standardrims for the 14.00 R20 that fits TGB30/40?

 

It feels like 14.00R20 is the best option for me.

For 14.00 you can take the 1000-V 20 rims.

It fits well, but not with 16.00, they are wider.

I have seen rims from US army with nice dimesinon of offset. but they are only for trailers. DON't USE THAT BY TRUCK ON FRONT! THEY CAN BRAKE BY DRIVING-THATS NO FUNNY!

Tires in 14.00 from different  firms are not the same dimension. Differences more then 6cm circumference are possible. So I wrote Michelin XZL
